Here is a little bit about me:
I grew up in Newport News, VA in a family of 6 ( 1 older sister, 1 older brother & 1 younger brother & my parents). Our family moved around a lot so I spent time between my family’s hometown of Philly, PA & Newport News and eventually ended up in Williamsburg, VA by the end of 3rd grade. I could give my long sob story of the hard life of poverty, living in and out of cars, hotels, shelters, witnessing physical abuse at the hand of my father on my mother, being molested by family friends starting at the age of 4, raped at the age of 13, and a slew of other unfortunate things. Even with the little I just openly disclosed with you, I as a young person did not even allow that to affect me when it came to succeeding in life. Those were just minor obstacles along the way.
I was the highest ranked minority many times in my high school, Lafayette High. I ran track & field from middle school through my first college and even still hold a high school state record. I maintained a high g.p.a. and was a pretty well rounded student.
Devestation hit again…
At the age of 18, I got injured on the track at track practice at my first college- Eastern Kentucky University where I was on partial academic and track scholarship. Coming from a middle-class to low-income family, on top of being the first one in my family to go to college, we could not afford the cost of college. When part of my track scholarship was taken as a result of the injury, I could not return to finish track or pursuing a degree in Veterinary Medicine & Dance. I hit depression pretty bad because running was all I knew and I saw my olympic dream go out the door. Then ontop of that I had fallen ill and went to be seen and treated for Cervical Cancer. Biopsy after biopsy, therapy after therapy, I survived all of that and found a way to move forward.
A New Beginning…
In 2002, I worked my first at home job with a medical company. At the same time, I continued to be Supervisor at a photoshop at my local amusement park and then I began working for my local humane society in 2002. I also got to play a small non-speaking roll in Cold Mountain that year as well. Later on, I got involved in things like street racing and hanging out with friends a bunch, but God saw forth to end that. In December 2002, I got in a near death car accident. That completely changed my perspective on life. It was hard recovering from that, but I learned a great deal during that time. It made me realize how precious life was and how I needed to make a change in my life and I did. I began to become more involved in my spirituality and really appreciating what I had been blessed with. I got married the following year and had my daughter. During my pregnancy was when I began my first real look into the internet/home based businesses.
In 2003, as I was searching for something to do from home I got scammed out of money left and right. I thought it was logical to have an “application” fee. But $800 or so odd dollars later, I knew that what I was coming across was not jobs and the bad business investments I had made I could no longer afford to do. I did come across 1 legitimate opportunity at the time and it opened a whole new door for opportunities for me. But something about this particular opportunity did not “click” for me and I lost passion behind it and continued to work my 8 to 5 job. Because of personally being scammed, identity theft breaches, and the lack of affordable legal aid, I created my own business to help others find legitimate opportunities from home. I did not want anyone to succumb to the same scam artists that I did. Those three major things also prompted me to pursue 2 degrees- 1 in Paralegal Studies and the other in Criminal Justice. Over the years, I helped many people avoid being scammed and successfully find something to do from home.
My Breakdown & Turn Around…
In 2008, I began to breakdown physically, mentally and emotionally. I was severely overworked at my job and underappreciated at home. I worked 40 to 60 or more hours per week and was never paid for those overtime hours and was already underpaid salary wise. I poured my heart, soul, sweat and tears into my company for 6 years. I was becoming overly tired of waking up in the morning, getting my daughter to daycare, rushing to work, rushing to get her, rushing home, rushing to cook, rushing to get my school work done and get her in the bed then do it all over the next morning. I was tired of someone else taking care of my daughter. I missed out on sooo many milestones and moments in my daughters life. I can’t get those moments back… 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 was gone. What happened during those years I will never get to go back to. I was tired of not being able to do this and that because of the financial issues we had. I was determined to make it another way. And I did. I found my current internet business right before I lost my 8 to 5 job. I will admit I was devestated and lost my way because my “job” was all I knew.
Some soul searching….
After some soul searching I realized that losing my job was a blessing in disguise. I was blessed with my current internet business and it has afforded me the opportunities that I would not have working an outside job. I stopped Jumping Out of Bed to get on the Journey Of the Broke to remain Just Over Broke. By plugging into the many great men and women who are successful entrepreneurs and developing myself as a person, as a leader, as an entrepreneur, I learned so many valuable things. One thing I learned is that I needed to stop trading my precious time for money. That is what I was doing by being someone’s employee. I can gladly say I crossed that one off my “to-do” list. I am worth more than $13 or $15 or $20 an hour. Over time I learned that no one would pay me what I am worth. I could only do that. I figured I already work 60 underpaid hours per week, why not do it for myself and have more TIME freedom and earn a larger income than I could ever get with that company!?
How Internet Marketing & Personal Development fits in…
In my very first home business from 2003, I learned how to market online. Our team had so much training and resources for online marketing, it was an awesome way to be introduced to this way of marketing. As the years passed by, I did a lot of studying and taught myself how to do different things and even learned how to build websites from scratch– all from what I learned while searching the internet and picking up books from either my local library or half.com. With my limited budget when I began my current internet business, I knew I would have to become a savvy internet marketer while using cost effective means. So I learned many tricks and tips from other internet entrepreneurs and I ofcourse made my mistakes along the way, but learned from them. In my first home business, I had generated thousands of leads online and knew that I could repeat the process in my current opportunity especially with all of the new technology out there. I loved how easily accessible everything was. I truly embarked on the power of the internet. I used the internet to lead me to great success in my current business. I have been listed as Top Recruiter numerous time for my team and got into many leadership roles for the team to help others out as well.
And of course, I learned as the years passed to develop myself as a leader. I plugged into many great successful leaders in the industry and rededicated myself to my spirituality and that’s when I saw a change for the good in my business. Because I made a change in myself, it made outward changes in my life and my business. I became incredibly passionate about helping others do what I did. I saw that when I made changes personally, I grew and so did other areas of my life. I increasingly dug deeper into personal growth/development. I got a lot of self-help audios, dvds, books and began to really take in what I was studying and apply it to my life.
My Purpose…
I have a very strong desire to help others realize their self-worth. Now that I know and my eyes have been opened to not only the power of the internet, but the power of our minds… I want to share it with the world and help as many people as I can to unburden themselves, to remove the shackles that bound them in their lives. It is time for people to stop settling for that dead-end unfulfilling job, those bad relationships, and to just plain stop settling in life in general! We are more than that, we deserve more than that. We are supposed to live our lives more abundantly. As I said the mind is a very powerful thing. We create our own universe, our own realities with every single wave length that comes from our thoughts, every single action we make, and every single feeling we have. If you change your mind, the way you think, you will change your life. I just really want to help so many people realize that they have the ability to change their lives. The power is in their hands and not anyone elses.
It is my true passion, dedication, my dream to help as many people as I can to become a better person while achieving their dreams no matter what business opportunity they are in (if any). Because dreams really do come true if you believe. It is not just for fairy tales. You can manifest what you want in your life and I am here to help you realize that all along the way.
