Just the other day I was speaking with a lady who contacted me because she wanted to make a change in her life.  She did not like where she was at– meaning her situation.  This woman was working an outside job and had done a home business in the health & wellness industry.  When I asked her how was her business doing or how did she enjoy it, she went on and on about why she wasn’t successful in that business.  She began to list off her past situations, her current separation from her spouse and the fact that it was an one income household as reasons why she had not been successful.  She also told me that the economy had also contributed to her lack of success as well as many other variables.

This is my important message to each and everyone of you reading my blog….

Success is a Choice

Yes, you heard me. Success is a CHOICE. Just like you choose to go buy a pair of shoes, or go to the grocery store, or to pursue a certain career– you also choose to be successful or not.  We either make the choice or we don’t.  We can only control the variables we have control over.  There is no right or wrong.

The woman made up in her mind that she was not successful because of the different variables.  Her main reason was because of her separation and lack of funds for tools.

I am here to tell you like I told her.  That has NOTHING to do with her success.    “She” is what is holding her back from her success.  The variables are just that– variables.  We can either work around them and through them or we allow them to overtake us.  And that’s what she was doing… allowing her circumstances to dictate her success.  As I tell people that I mentor, the “Me” factor will get in your way all of the time.  You have to grow through personal development/ personal growth.  It is all a mindset that must be changed.  Success is a MINDSET.  This is WHY we CAN control it.

All successful people started from nothing.  All successful people went through ups and downs.  But they chose to keep moving forward and kept focus on their goal of success and that’s why they are wealthy, that’s why they are successful, that’s why they are living a life of freedom that many of us will only sit there and fantasize about… Well I know I’m not fantasizing about it because I’m making the necessary steps in my life to obtain the success that I desire.

Take a look at Tony Robbins… his first “mega home” had a mortgage of $10,000,000 and you know what?  He was just getting started in his career, mainly opening gigs and still speaking at other peoples’ events that he wasn’t hosting!  His home sat completely unfurnished as he was struggling just to pay the bank each month on the house…  And look at where Tony Robbins is today– 30 million dollars later…!

Here is my sound advice for you….

• Focus on what you’re in control over – that’s WHAT YOU CAN DO— AND ALL YOU CAN DO. You, and only YOU can make the choice as to whether or not you’re going to be successful.  No one else can make that decision.

• No more excuses.  As I mentor  others, our saying is No Excuses, Just Results. So stop making EXCUSES!
  
• Hold yourself accountable for everything.  Whether it is good or bad.  You must take responsibility for what you do and don’t do.
  
• Make the choice that YOU ARE A WINNER and YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL…because YOU ARE– Get Excited!!
  
• Most importantly, Successful people SQUASH negative thinking.  They do not allow what others to say to enter their minds to hinder and dwell.  They shun the “naysayers” and they laugh in the face of the unknown.

So…What choice are you making?

To Your Choice For Success…

What is inspiration……?

I often questioned myself a great deal about this.  I learned over the years that many people often confuse inspiration and motivation.  I have learned that no one can motivate you because motivation comes from within yourself.  This is one reason why I never say I am a “motivational” speaker/leader or that this person “motivates” me.  Because that is not true.  I motivate myself.  What people say can inspire me to do things… but it is ME actually taking the necessary steps to “ACT” which that drive to ACT comes from ME motivating myself within to do whatever it is that the person inspired me to do.

So back to the original question…. what is inspiration?  So let’s take a look at the webster definition.  According to the webster dictionary, inspiration is:

1 a : a divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her to receive and communicate sacred revelation b : the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions c : the act of influencing or suggesting opinions
2 : the act of drawing in; specifically : the drawing of air into the lungs
3 a : the quality or state of being inspired b : something that is inspired
4 : an inspiring agent or influence <a scheme that was pure inspiration>

Ok so there are 4 parts to this “official” definition.  When I read this definition, the FIRST definition spoke to me most.  But I still had to take it in and figure out what inspiration means to me.  I truly believe that inspiration is the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions.  When I am inspired by someone’s words, it touches me deep inside of my heart and soul.  It moves me within.  Sometimes it even affects me so much that I get teary eyed.  The words do influence me to give myself the energy or the fuel to drive myself to ACT.

I realized that inspiration is much like a fingerprint.   It is different for everyone, just as everyone’s fingerprints are unique.  Inspiration comes to me through different means and ways just as it will for you.  I get inspired from nature.  Just sitting outside listening to the wind, the birds chirp, water moving down a creek or river or looking up at the clouds can inspire me.  Music inspires me too– hearing different styles of music– the words, the rhythm, the melody can inspire me.  Dancing inspires me.  I love to dance and watch others dancing and I often find myself drifting into deep thought and becoming inspired by what I am watching or doing and then I get in gear to ACT.  But for the most part, I found that true inspiration for me comes from deep inside of my heart.  Especially when I’m talking to someone and feeling led to inspire them.  I always dig deep down inside myself and seem to know just the right words to say to inspire them.

In summation, I found that it inspiration is anything that fosters me, gives me the will to do, animates me, reveals my desires within reach, moves me to do anything that I enjoy and love doing.  Just like my opening quote shows you something that is quite true.  Children will not remember you because of the material things you have given them.  They will remember you for the feeling that you cherished them.  That’s inspiration.  You cherishing your children is inspiration to them— something they will remember forever.  Inspiration can be found everywhere and in anything!  So you don’t have to go searching for it and nor should you just “wait” on it.  Open your eyes, it’s right there— right there in front of you.

The Universe can always provide you with something, you just have to open your eyes and REALLY SEE.  Inspiration is what got you to follow your dreams.  It is that deep down soulful and exciting feeling you get when you are truly moved and even causes your heart to glide.

So I encourage you, empower you and inspire you to OPEN your EYES and SEE your inspiration.

Hi All!

Personal Development…I know this term may be foreign to some of you and it was to me for a long time.  But you do actually know what it is!  It is just a term to describe the different things you do in life to increase your self-value. I am excited about sharing this area of my blog with you.  Here you will learn about many different aspects of personal development.   This can be in any area of your life spiritually, emotionally, relationships, health, business/career and so forth.  I will also provide words of inspiration in forms of quotes, videos, or just what I feel like sharing that day.  This section is dedicated to sharing with you some of my personal experiences, tips, & advice with personal development that has helped me to become who I am today and who I am becoming.   I am truly excited about sharing with you about having positive & attracting energy!  This will truly help you to become a better you
